Digitalization of Quality Assurance in Higher Education

On February 17, 2021, a webinar of the Turkish Council for the Quality of Higher Education (THEQC) was held on the topic: "Digitalization of Quality Assurance in Higher Education", which was attended by employees of the Agency for Accreditation of Educational Programs and Organizations (AAEPO).

At this webinar, the presentation was made by:

THEQC President, Professor, Dr. Muzaffer Elmas on the topic: "Institutional Accreditation and Digital Processes”;

Director of the Dutch Department of the Accreditation Organization of the Netherlands and Flanders (NVAO) Mr. Luut Kroes on the topic: "Quality Assurance and Covid”;

Head of the Quality Assurance Department of the Quality Assurance Agency of the University of Catalonia (AQU Catalunya) - Dr. Esther Huertas Hidalgo on the topic: "Quality Assurance of E-learning".

The speakers provided information on the existing accreditation procedures, on the experience of accreditation in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as on digitalization in the field of Higher Education.

As noted in the webinar the present and future of THEQC are:

Ø Efforts to disseminate self-assessment program and support them through information management systems;

Ø Evaluation of innovations such as short-term and long-term educational programs, digital loans, technological development, artificial intelligence, and virtual reality.

At this webinar, the practical experience of all the speakers was presented, which can be implemented in the activities of organizations in the field of Quality Assurance of Higher Education.
