On 14-15 November 2024, the 29th ENAEE General Assembly was held in Almaty. The two-day event in Almaty brought together the world's participating agencies to discuss accreditation standards, exchange ideas and strengthen international co-operation.
The Director of the Agency for Accreditation of Educational Programs and Organizations (AAEPO), Dr.Sc., Professor Baktybek Ismailov, international expert in engineering education, Ph.D., Kubanych Ramatov, as well as heads of 16 accreditation agencies from 15 countries and international experts in the field of engineering education quality assurance took part in the General Assembly.
The first day of the event featured an international workshop on the basics of accreditation of the EUR-ACE® labelling system, focusing on the EUR-ACE® labelling issuing standards.
One of the highlights of the second day was the election of a new ENAEE President, during which President José Carlos Cuadrado was re-elected for a new two-year term and five members were elected to the Accreditation Council: Claire Peyratu, Keith Sunderland, Vicent Esteban Chapapria, Michael Fernando and Matthias Werner.
This momentous occasion reaffirmed ENAEE's commitment to global excellence in accreditation.
In his speech, ENAEE President José Carlos Quadrado stressed the importance of further strengthening international cooperation and developing the accreditation of engineering education programs across Europe and beyond. He noted that he will continue to work towards broadening and deepening co-operation between the European Union and Central Asia, opening up new career opportunities for students in the region.
